Individual counseling for teens, young adults, and adults

I offer support and expertise in treating anxiety, depression, eating disorders and disordered eating, body image, as well as personal growth and exploration. I am passionate about creating a safe place for all people regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, age, size, religion or abilities.

My work with teens centers on fostering growth and groundedness, in a world of seemingly endless pressure and expectations. My intention is to provide a safe space for teens to feel seen and heard as they discover who they are and who they want to be. My teen clients work with me to manage stress with friends, family, and school, anxiety, depression, body image, bullying, feeling left out, setting healthy boundaries and increasing connection within themselves and others.

I believe that everyone is capable of change, but sometimes we can’t do it alone.
I am here to support you in this process.

We'll Find What Works For You

Everyone's path is different

Art Therapy

Art therapy is an intervention facilitated by an Art Therapist that uses a variety of art materials, the creative process, and the resulting artwork to explore one’s feelings, manage behavior, reconcile emotional conflicts, reduce anxiety, increase self-esteem, and foster self-awareness. Using visual expression to access different parts of the brain can foster healing and growth.

The focus of Art Therapy isn’t about the quality of the art produced, rather the therapeutic experience and the insight gained from the process. This means you do not need to be an artist and it does not require any special talent or experience. Stick figures welcome!!

Materials can range from: pencils /colored pencils, pens, markers, oil pastels, collage, glue, tape, water colors, acrylic paints, and clay. You do not need to have experience with the art materials to do art therapy. Often time clients who have no experience are surprised by what they discover during the creative process.

Art Therapy is not for everyone and that is okay! I will never force anyone to create art that does not want to. Together we can explore the approach that works best for you. Please feel free to ask me questions about this process.

The Goal is to Help You Embody Your Whole Self

Mind and body

Eating Disorders

I believe that if you are struggling with issues related to eating, food, body image, movement and exercise that healing is possible. This is true no matter how many times you have tried, how long you have struggled or what size you are, you are capable of healing. I know this can be a challenging task when we live in a world filled with weight bias, diet culture, family messages, social media and societal expectations of what our bodies “should” look like and what we “should” be eating. Together we can work on letting go of the “should” and instead access your body and mind’s inner wisdom.

My approach is rooted in the * Health at Every Size® philosophy and Intuitive Eating approach. My belief is that all foods fit and when we challenge the messages about “good foods” or “bad foods” and listen to what our bodies are telling us, we can start to make peace with food. I promote joyful, loving movement and foster the mind and body connection. I practice with the understanding that what is happening for a person is about more than just food. As a form of self protection, we often develop patterns of eating, exercise, negative thoughts and behaviors. I believe in exploring where and how those messages developed, the function of the behaviors and the barriers that are preventing change. My goal is to help you embody your whole self and to establish a compassionate trusting relationship with food.
